高程数据从哪来

本页三维地形是真实的：高程数据来自 NASA SRTM 1-arc-second（约 30 m）数字高程模型（DEM），裁剪并重采样到约 120 m 网格用于流畅渲染。为便于观察地形起伏，垂直方向做了约 ×1.8 的夸张——这是为了看清而放大，并非真实坡度。

什么是等高线

等高线是把海拔相同的点连成的曲线：同一条线上海拔处处相同，线越密表示坡度越陡、越稀表示越平缓。本页的等高线由 marching squares 算法从高程场中提取为矢量线；点「▤ 只看等高线」可切换到二维等高线图，不看三维山体、只看线。

五岳配「五行五色」主题：东青、南赤、西白（金）、北玄（黑）、中黄，与传统五方五色对应。

Where the elevation comes from

The 3D terrain on this page is real: elevation comes from NASA SRTM 1-arc-second (~30 m) DEM data, cropped and resampled to a ~120 m grid for smooth rendering. The vertical axis is exaggerated by about ×1.8 to make the relief easier to read — it is enlarged for clarity, not the true slope.

What contour lines are

A contour line connects points of equal elevation: every point on one line is at the same height, and lines packed closely mean a steeper slope while widely spaced lines mean gentler ground. Here the contours are extracted as vector lines from the elevation field by the marching-squares algorithm; tap “▤ Contours” to switch to a flat 2D contour map and see the lines alone.

The Five Great Mountains use a “five phases, five colors” theme: East cyan, South red, West white (metal), North black, Center yellow — matching the traditional five directions and colors.
